The University Hosts a Memorial Service for the Samaritan High Priest

On March 30 2010, under the patronage of President Mahmoud Abbas, the University held a memorial service for the Samaritans' High Priest Abdel Moin Sadaqa who has passed away recently in Nablus. The deceased brother, Yusef Sadaqa, the University President, Prof. Rami Hamdallah, Aaron Abulhasan, the Samaritans' new priest, Jebrin Al-Bakri, Nablus Governor, and others attended the ceremony.
In his speech, Prof. Hamdallah spoke about the deceased, his life and the intimate relationships he had with the University, the people and the local society. Dr. Ghassan Shakaa, member of the executive committee of the PLO, said that the deceased was a distinguished figure in the society who was able to establish international relationships through his International Peace Center in Nablus.
Other participants mentioned that Abdul Moin was a renowned Samaritan writer, author and historian who contributed to the society with a number of books about the Samaritan sect. His ideas were marked by a continuous emphasis on the importance of maintaining unity among religions and social integration.
