The University Honors Dr. Fahkry Juday from Jaffa
In conjunction with the Public Relations Department, the Poison Control and Drug Information Center (PCDIC) and the Faculty of Pharmacy held an honorary dinner for Dr. Fakhry Juday from Jaffa. This dinner, which was held in Ramallah, was attended by Dr. Ansam Sawalha, the Director of PCDIC, Dr. Samah Al-Jabi, from the Faculty of Pharmacy, and Mr. Khalid Mufleh, from the Public Relations Department.
According to Dr. Sawalha, this dinner was held to honor Dr. Juday for his contribution to the Pharmacy Museum, which is being established at An-Najah National University. Dr. Juday gave the museum his personal collection of pharmacy-related items which included, among other things; photographs, documents, transcripts, and antique medications. Also, he offered many valuable suggestions and expressed his support for this project which is expected to be the first of its type in the region.Dr. Juday was born in Jaffa in 1926. He got his elementary and secondary education at Freres School there. He then joined the French University in Beirut, where he received his M.S. in Pharmacy. Dr. Juday is the owner of the oldest pharmacy in pre-1948 Palestine, Which is Al-Kamal Pharmacy. He has been working in this pharmacy, which was established by his father in 1925 and has not changed since then, for 60 years now.
At the end of the Dinner, Dr. Sawalha presented the university plaque to Dr. Juday in appreciation for his efforts to serve the profession of Pharmacy in Palestine. Dr. Rami Hamdallah, the University President, said that we are proud of this man, who has done a lot for his country. On his part, Dr. Juday expressed his gratitude to the university for this nice gesture, and he said that he was very proud to be honored by An-Najah National University, which is well-known for its academic achievements.
