The University Celebrates the First Day of the 30th Graduation Commencement Ceremonies
On June 7th 2010, the University celebrated the first graduation ceremony which included graduates from the faculties of Higher Studies, Science, Human Medicine, Nursing, Pharmacy, Optometry and Educational Sciences. The celebration was organized under the auspices of the University President, Prof. Rami Hamdallah, members of the Board of Trustees, vice presidents, president assistants, faculties' deans, and faculties' members.

Prof. Hamdallah delivered a speech in which he welcomed the guests and congratulated the students on their graduation. "These are spectacular moments you have today, on this special day you have achieved what you have been working for over the past years. Dear graduates, you are the ones who hold the responsibility to build this country and help its people live a good life" Prof. Hamdallah said. He also added that the Palestinians should be proud of this university which annually graduates thousands of students from various specializations who represent the future of this country and the leaders of the development process.

Speaking about the University's achievements, Prof. Hamdallah mentioned that the recent ranking that the University achieved by the Webometrics which ranked it first in Palestine and tenth in the Arab world indicates the level of development it reached. He also spoke about the different new facilities that have been opened such as the new library, the Media Center, the new central underground stores, and the National Teaching Hospital which will be opened soon. Prof. Hamdallah stressed that the University will not stop here, but shall continue its steady progress through the establishment of more facilities, the opening of new faculties and departments as well as the provision of more academic programs in different fields.

Finally, the President thanked all the employees and staff who work hard to keep this educational institution in the lead and to be an active representative of Palestine regionally as well as internationally. He also congratulated the students and wished them all the best in life.
