The French Department at the university organized Francophone Day which was attended by representatives of the French General Consulate in Jerusalem and the French Cultural Center in Nablus as well as the department's students.
During a celebration organized by the University's French Department on Francophone Day, students performed different cultural and artistic activities.  The Director of the French Cultural Center and several instructors of the French Department also participated in the events.
The day started with a speech by Dr. Bilal Shafi`, Director of the French Department, who spoke about the importance of diversity in linguistics and cultural exchange. He also spoke about the importance of non-curricula activities in education and learning other languages.
Students gave presentations on francophone countries in which they discussed their populations, culture, history, and their geography. Songs were performed in addition to plays on Palestine. Students also spoke in their presentations about their latest visit to France and their experience there.
