The University’s Faculty of information technology won second and third places in the second pioneers meeting of Hub Hi-Tech which was held in the Mövenpick Hotel in Ramallah. Among the participants were 450 pioneers from different Palestinian institutions. This meeting is regularly held through a partnership with Palestine Information and Communications Technology Incubator (PICTI), centers of excellence in Palestinians universities, the LEADERS institution, and the Peeks group in cooperation with Sadara Ventures and with the support of the Compete project funded by  the United States Agency for International Development, USAID.

The project “Deaf Hear…Deaf Speak” won second place. The project is mainly based upon the idea of designing a computerized system that converts the human voice to a language of signs understood by the deaf, and also converts the communicating signs of a deaf person to a voice that the other person hears. Designing this project is attributed to the Department of Computer Sciences under the supervision of the instructor Mohammad Sharaf. Also, the pioneering project of “Basma- the web as you like it” won third place. The main idea of this project involves specifying the web content for users cross the world in an efficient social quick and easy way. Designing this project is attributed to the Department of Computerized Information Systems within the Faculty under the supervision of Dr. Baker Abd Al-Haq
