January 2^nd 2011. The Public Safety Committee at the University announced the start of two training courses, one on first aid and the other on the basics of firefighting which will be held between 2^nd-6^th of January 2011 and 9^th-13^th 2011 respectively. The first course will be organized in coordination with Dr. Qasem Asmeh the University’s doctor at the New Campus while the other will be organized in coordination with the Firefighting Department in Nablus.

More than 40 employees from the different laboratories, workshops, scientific centers, as well as the library, the Center for Urban and Regional Planning, the Media Center and the Central Warehouse will participate in these courses. The two fields that the training addresses are of substantial importance for the public since they focus on issues related to public safety. Training employees on first aid and firefighting techniques will help them deal effectively with situations that involve danger and risk. This would significantly increase their preparedness for such situations since most of them work in areas that require caution and ability to deal with hazardous events in the most proper way.
