On March 2nd, An-Najah University President, Prof. Rami Hamdallah, received in his office at the Old Campus Dr. Alan Wildeman, President of the University of Windsor in Canada accompanied by Dr. Reem Bahdi, Associate Professor at Windsor. Attendees included also Prof. Maher Abu Eid, An-Najah Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Dr. Akram Daoud, Dean of An-Najah Faculty of Law.

In the meeting, Prof. Hamdallah welcomed Dr. Wildeman and valued his visit to An-Najah. He then presented an overview about the University, its development, the faculties and the fields of study it offers to students, as well as the role it performs in providing the local Palestinian society with the best of services through its dedicated scientific centers. Prof. Hamdallah also discussed the prospects of academic cooperation and joint scientific research between the two universities.

Furthermore, he spoke about and stressed the importance of education and its role in developing the Palestinian society explaining that the human being is the basic element in which investment must be carried out in order to build a strong society.

Dr. Wildeman thanked Prof. Hamdallah for his hospitality and emphasized the need to maintain cooperation and communication between Windsor and An-Najah in the different fields. During the visit a short documentary film was presented to the guest which described An-Najah’s long developmental history and achievements. He also expressed his admiration by the unique level of development that An-Najah was able to achieve.

The Windsor delegation also visited the New Campus where they were introduced to its different facilities including the Media Center, the Prince Turki Bin Abdul Aziz Theater, the New Library, the Faculty of Law, the Faculty of Fine Arts and the University Museum.

After that, the delegation visited the Old City of Nablus where they were introduced to the city’s various historical sites and became familiar with the different traditions and customs that characterize the inhabitants of this city.
