On May 5th 2010, the People with Disability Care Office at the University participated in the Nablus Exhibition Originality and Creativity in which many students displayed their creative works to the visitors. At the exhibition, the Disability Care Office presented a description of the role it plays in supporting people with special needs in Palestine and facilitating their integration into their society.
The Office also presented a number of sample university courses that were designed using the Braille system. A number of brochures were also distributed among the visitors that aimed to raise awareness among them regarding the situation of this group of people and to show that they are an integral part of the Palestinian society.

Mr. Samer Aqrooq, Director of the People with Disability Care Office at the University, mentioned that the reason behind the participation of the Office in the exhibition was to familiarize this group of people and their families with the degree of development in the kind and scale of services provided to them. He also added that the University, represented by its President, Prof. Rami Hamdallah, has provided a number of facilities that were specially designed to serve students with special needs and meet their demands. Other forms of support included preparing special academic courses that are designed using the Braille system for the visually impaired students as well as scholarships and study loans to help those students carry on in their quest to achieve academic recognition.
His Excellency, Prime Minister, Dr. Salam Fayyad, visited the Disability Care Office corner at the exhibition where he expressed his admiration of the scale of services and support that is provided to this group of people by the University.
