On November 28th 2010, the People with Disability Care Office at the University in cooperation with the Palestinian General Federation of People with Disabilities organized a seminar titled "Integrating the People with Disability, Theory vs. Application". The seminar was organized in conjunction with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities in which Professor Jawad Fatayer, President Assistant for Graduate Affairs, and Mr. Samer Aqrouq, the Director of the People with Disability Care Office. A number of students and local society institutions attended the event.

Mr. Aqrouq spoke about the issue of integration as a key to open new horizons and opportunities for this group of people. The seminar focused on issue of social and educational integration which is a vital issue in the life of such group of people.

On his part, Professor Fatayer spoke about the importance of establishing differences between sight and insight, explaining that insight is the means by which human beings can achieve. It is defined as the human being's ability to establish a reasonable stand or attitude towards the things he sees. He also added that more than 6% of the world's population suffers from different kinds of disabilities.

He also discussed and explained issues related to disability including mental, physical, psychological and neurological disabilities. He added that a man's happiness or misery is not caused by his physical status since having disability does not necessarily make a person a burden to his family or the society. Every person has the will, determination and ability to achieve much.
