The Continuing Education Center at the University finished, on the 10^th of Jan 2010, a specialized training course on Quality Management System (ISO9001:2008). Participated in the course was a significant number of engineers and undergraduate students in the field of Industrial, Civil, and Chemical Engineering, as well as other engineering specializations.

Dr. Musaddaq Al-Masri, Director of the Continuing Education Center, said that this course has achieved a great success since it has been held more than 4 times. This success comes as a result of the University's concern in offering courses that aim at providing accredited trainers to serve the society. Dr. Al Masri further added that this course was held in the Electronic Education Studios and was recorded using the latest technology.

Engineer Nidal Yusef Dwaikat, the instructor in the Faculty of Engineering at the University, and the accredited Industrial Engineering expert by the United Nations for Industrial Development (UNIDO) was the trainer in this course. Dwaikat said that this course aims at qualifying the participants in the field of quality and developing the work in the industrial and service institutions through discussing real cases from the local and international markets.

The course discussed several topics such as: defining the ISO organization, the (ISO9001:2008) standard, the mechanism of obtaining the (ISO) certificate, the reasons of failing to get the (ISO), some internal auditing principles concerning the (ISO), the benefits of the (ISO) system, in addition to other related topics.

Dr. Al-Masri and Engineer Dwaikat distributed the certificates among the participants at the end of the course.
