September 28th. The Palestinian Engineer Friends Society organized a seminar on E-marketing at the Faculty of Engineering at An-Najah University in cooperation with the Engineering Communication Center at the Faculty. The Seminar was lectured by Mr. Mu’tasem Bdeer, Director of the National Insurance Company- Tulkarem Branch and General Director of Kafa’at for Training and Consultancy. Attendees included members of the board of directors at the Engineer Friends Society, the Executive Director of the Society, Mr. Adham Yunis, in addition to a large number of engineering students.

In the seminar, Mr. Bdeer spoke about the importance of E-marketing in the different engineering sectors adding that it has become an integrated part of the marketing process in the work field. He also explained that the mechanism used in marketing a given commodity or service using technological means requires studying a number of things including the culture and to what extent the idea will be accepted in the context where it is meant to be promoted.

Moreover, he presented the advantages of this type of marketing and said it facilitates access to commodities with no limits of time or place; it overcomes barriers and markets global expertise around the world. E-marketing also offers low costs and is easy to execute; it is also very measurable.

After the presentation questions were presented by the students and issues related to the implementation of the marketing process in a modernized way were discussed. Mr. Yunis mentioned that the seminar comes as part of a series of educational seminars that are considered vital for the engineering students.

Mohammad Al-Dana, Chairperson of the Society, thanked the Deanship of the Faculty of Engineering at An-Najah and the Engineering Communication Center for their efforts to facilitate the Society’s work inside the Faculty. He also informed that the Society is planning for more similar events to be held at the University.

Dr. Abdel Raheem Abu Safa, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, said the Faculty is proud of its students who showed a great deal of enthusiasm towards participating in extra-curricular activities. He also valued this type of work which helps connect the University with the society and its different institutions.
