On April 8^th 2010 University President, Prof. Rami Hamdallah, received in his office at the Old Campus Dr. Manuel Hassassian, the Palestinian Ambassador to the United Kingdom. Prof. Hamdallah welcomed Dr. Hassassian and valued his role as a representative of Palestine in the UK. Prof. Maher Abu Eid, Vice President for Academic Affairs also attended the meeting.

On his part, Dr. Hassassian congratulated the University for the remarkable ranking it received by the Webometrics which ranked it first in Palestine and tenth in the Arab world from among 18,000 universities around the world. He further expressed his interest in establishing relations between a number of British universities and An-Najah in the different academic and scientific fields.

A visit was organized to the New Campus where Dr. Hassassian expressed his admiration at the level of development and advancement that the University has reached, as well as the role that the University plays in supporting higher education in Palestine.
