A special event was organized at the Hisham Hijjawi College of Technology to celebrate the opening of Microsoft Academy at the College. Attendees included Brigadier Jibrin Al-Bakri, Governor of Nablus, Engineer Adli Haish, Mayor of Nablus, Mr. Michael Harvey, USAID Mission Director, in addition to several key figures and representatives of governmental and international institutions operating in Palestine.

The Academy was granted an official registration as being one of Microsoft’s global academies that is qualified to teach Microsoft curricula and material.

The opening of this academy came after two of the College’s trainers received training at Microsoft Company and their adoption as certified trainers for the Company. The establishment of the Academy was supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) through the Technical and Vocational Training Support Project that is implemented by the Save the Children and Mercy Corps institutions.

Prof. Rami Hamdallah, President of An-Najah University, valued this step and emphasized the University’s concern with contacting and cooperating with the world’s leading companies and institutions so as to provide the Palestinian students with the best teaching opportunities.
