In cooperation with the Partners for Sustainable Development (PSD), the Office of the University President Assistant for Graduate Affairs launched the “Think Tek” Campaign which was merged with the Netkitab device at the Korean-Palestinian IT Institute of Excellence, New Campus.

Attendees included: Professor Jawad Fatayer, An-Najah President Assistant for Graduate Affairs, Mr. Rafe’ Daraghmeh, Director of An-Najah Alumni Unit, Mr. Jawad Abu Aoun, Executive Director at PSD, Mr. Anan Abu Shihab, Director of PSD’s Branch in Nablus, Mr. Bader Al-Hudhud, Director of the Societal Development at PSD, in addition to PSD’s employees and the University’s students.

At the beginning of the meeting, Professor Fatayer welcomed the PSD to the University and spoke about the Think Tek Campaign explaining the objective behind it which is to develop technical competency of university graduates and students as well as enhance the students’ and graduates’ personal and leadership skills.

He also said that the student who possesses the needed technical skills will be able to market himself, thus increasing the advantages that he and the institution where he works could get. Abu Aoun spoke about the campaign saying that it focuses on raising the level of education in Palestine and improve its quality, provide the students with modern skills, in addition to providing the students with a chance to exhibit their creativity and innovation, as well as achieving sustainable development in the Palestinian society.

Mr. Al-Hudhud presented Palestine’s experience in the “Think Tek” project and explained that it is the first country in the Middle East that implements the project. He also said that Egypt is expected to implement the project as well; countries of South America and Europe have already implemented the project.

Both Mr. Abu Shihab and Al-Hudhud presented a detailed description about the training program saying that each participant in the Campaign will be subject to a 24-hour training program after which a number of them will be selected based on their personal skills to join another training program. Following their training at the second program, the participants will then be qualified to work as trainers who are able to transfer knowledge and train others on various fields.

Moreover, they spoke about the Netkitab device, its price, the technical specifications, payment and installment mechanisms, in addition to other features that the device has such as educational programs as well as control programs for young users.
