On November 24^th 2010, the Office of Scholarships and Professional Development at the University organized a seminar on the scholarships that are offered by the British Council in Palestine. The seminar was administered by Mrs. Merna Kassis, Scholarships and Projects Coordinator at the British Council. Attendees included, Dr. Khaled Eleiwi, Scholarship Coordinator at the University, Mr. Muhammad Al-Kobri, Director of the British Council in Nablus, as well as a number of students and instructors from the different faculties.

 

In the meeting, Dr. Eleiwi welcomed the guests and introduced them to the University's Scholarships Office and Mrs. Kassis who delivered a speech in which she spoke about the different scholarships that the British Council in Palestine offers. She also spoke about the requirements that applicants must meet in order to qualify for a scholarship to one of the British universities, the types of scholarships that are offered to students at Palestinian universities, the specializations that are available at the British universities, application mechanism, and other issues.

 

At the end of the seminar, discussion was raised between the students and Mrs. Kassis who answered their questions regarding applying for scholarships. She also invited them to visit the British Council's official website (www.britishcouncil.org/ps) to get further details and information regarding scholarships available and how to apply.
