The Office of Scholarships at An-Najah University Organizes a Presentation about the Japanese Government Scholarships
On April 20th, the Office of Scholarships at An-Najah University organized a presentation about the scholarships offered by the Japanese Government at the Training Room, New Campus Library. The presentation was delivered by Dr. Waleed Basha from the Faculty of Medicine at An-Najah; Dr. Basha obtained his Master and PhD degrees in Medical Microbiology from Japan through one of the scholarships presented by the Japanese Government.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Khaled Eleiwi, Coordinator of Scholarships at An-Najah, welcomed the attendants and valued Dr. Basha’s efforts to reinforce the relationships between the Palestinian and Japanese people.
Dr. Basha started his presentation with an explanation of the type of scholarships that are offered by the Japanese Government which include Master and PhD degree scholarships. He added that the applicant is accepted in the initial stages under the designation “Research Student” within a timeframe between 6 months to 2 years during which the applicant enters a test to join the Master program. When the applicant is accepted to the program he / she will be given a two-year period to complete his / her Master degree, the same is true to the PhD degree program.
Dr. Basha also said that the monthly amount of the scholarship is 1700 $; applying to the scholarships begins in late April and closes by the end of June and the beginning of July every year.
