The Japanese Ambassador, Mr. Yoshinori Katori, visited the university accompanied by the embassy's staff in Tel Aviv as well as the Japanese Agency for International Cooperation, JICA.  They met with the University President, Prof. Rami Hamdallah and members of the university administration.
Prof. Hamdallah welcomed his guests and briefed them of the latest developments taking place at the university. He also spoke about many newly opened programs, centers, and faculties, as well as the inauguration of the new campus.
Mr. Katori expressed his pleasure to be visiting An-Najah National University and spoke about the cooperation between the university and the embassy which began in 1993. He expressed the importance of cooperation in scientific fields and the participation of the Japanese researchers and experts in developing and implementing projects at An-Najah.
Prof. Hamdallah accompanied his guests on a tour of the new campus where they visited the newly inaugurated Prince Turki Bin Abdul Aziz Theatre as well as other faculties and complexes. The tour included a visit to the newly launched Korean Palestinian IT Institute of Excellence.
Another meeting was held between the JAIKA delegation and the Coordinator of the Scientific Centers. The meeting was attended by the directors of the various centers where a discussion on the importance of cooperation took place.
