The International Medical Education Trust Organizes a Workshop at the University
September 9th. The International Medical Education Trust (IMET 2000-Pal) organized a workshop at Martyr Zafer Al-Masri Auditorium at An-Najah in cooperation with the Palestinian Surgeons Association and in sponsorship from the Palestine Investment Fund. More than 40 physicians from the different Palestinian cities participated in the event.
Dr. Ahmed Abu Tayeh, Administrative Assistant at IMET, first welcomed the participants and thanked all the bodies that contributed to the organization of this event. He also emphasized the IMET’s commitment to organizing more similar workshops for the different specializations.
Dr. Usama Bishtawi, Head of the Palestinian Surgeons Association, thanked the IMET’s for holding the workshop and said the event is of great importance as it enables the participants to update their knowledge about the different medical issues and subjects. Dr. Khalili Isa, Assistant Dean for Clinical Sciences Phase at An-Najah, said the Faculty of Medicine at the University is ready to cooperate with the different bodies to organize continuing medical education workshops and programs.
The workshop was lectured by Dr. Muhammad Abu Hilal, Laparoscopic Surgery Consultant at Southampton Hospital in the United Kingdom, Dr. Abdullah Al-Hawwari, Laparoscopic Surgery specialist at the Arab Speciality Hospital in Nablus and member of the teaching staff at An-Najah’s Faculty of Medicine. The two doctors discussed a number of issues including the status of Laparoscopic Surgery in Palestine, Colon Cancer treatment using Laparoscopic surgery….etc.
