Dr. Ayham Ja’roun, Head of the Industrial Engineering Department at An-Najah University, participated in the Third International for the Production and Operations Management Society (POMS-HK) in Hong Kong.

The Conference was held at the Chinese University of Hong Kong in which a large number of researchers from the different parts of the world participated including Germany, Australia, United States, Singapore, China and Malaysia.

The Conference’s main topics were centered on the mechanism of managing production processes in companies and institutions in light of the rapid changes that the world is going through theses days including the global economic recession, global climate change, high price of manpower and raw materials needed for industrial institutions.

Among the main goals of the Conference was the discussion of the latest research developments that could offer solutions to the abovementioned global crises and problems.

Dr. Ja’roun participated with a research paper which he prepared in cooperation with Engineer Tamer Haddad from the Department of Industrial Engineering at An-Najah. The paper was titled “lean TPM for healchcare facilities: an implementation methodology” in which Dr. Ja’roun discussed a new concept in maintenance management at health institutions which enable this sector to secure the expenses of maintenance and increase its effectiveness depending on the “Lean Manufacturing” principle, taking into consideration that this paper is one of 160 other papers that were chosen at this conference.
