The Google Technology User Group at An-Najah Organizes a Training Day on the Android System Applications
The Google Technology User Group based at the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology at An-Najah University organized a training day titled “Android in Depth” which focused on the design of the Android System applications. The event was organized under the sponsorship of Al-Isra Software Company and Design-Tech for Digital Printing. Trainers were Muhammad Al-Asmar, one of the persons in charge of the teams that work on the creation of Android applications at Infinite Tyres, and Salah Yahya, a student at the Faculty of Information Technology.
The training covered several topics including: The definition of the Android System, its structure, how to start developing the Android applications, as well as the installation of software in this programming environment. More than 50 students participated in the event from the two faculties. The training was supervised by Dr. Alaa’ Al-Masri, Instructor at the Department of Computer Engineering.
The participants were allowed to apply a number of examples and were taught on the basic concepts related to the Android system and its applications. In the concluding session, a competition was held in which the students competed to create an Android application. Winners were given prizes presented by the sponsors of the event.
Dr. Abdel Raheem Abu Safa, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, said he is happy with the level that the students were able to reach through this training and praised the achievements that the Department of Computer Engineering has made along with its cooperation and partnership with the Faculty of Information Technology. Such cooperation has led to the organization of such events that enable the students from the two faculties to get acquainted with the latest developments in the technological field.
