Mr. Bernard Fillion Dufouleur, Cooperation and Cultural Activities Counselor and Mr. Jean Pierre, French Cultural Attaché at the French Consulate in Jerusalem visited An-Najah National University and met its Administration represented by Prof. Rami Hamdallah, the University President and other colleagues. An-Najah President thanked the French Consulate for its concern for the French Department of An-Najah, and stressed the importance of developing relations between the University and French Universities in the fields of exchanging students, study visits and scholarships, mentioning the positive growing relations with Lille University for Science and Technology and Lille University for Humanities. He also thanked the Consulate for its financial support, which enabled the Faculty of Education to buy equipments and materials for training students.
Further discussions took place with the Dean of Faculty of Fine Arts, Graduate Studies, the Head of English Department, and the Head of Physical Education Department. The conversation focused on further cooperation in recruiting French teachers to teach at the French Department, as well as in exchanging instructors in the fields of Medicine, Fine Arts and IT. Prof Maher Natsheh, Vice President for Academic Affairs, discussed with guests the possibility of obtaining external observation and marking by French professors of the theses written by students undertaking master degrees at An-Najah.
Mr. Bernard Fillion Dufouleur expressed his interest in strengthening the cooperation with An-Najah in the different academic fields, as well as in exchanging instructors, researchers and scholarships.
