The Fourth Film Festival Screens Students Documentaries: Eleven Films Ran for the Prize of the Contest
Memories, heritage, hope, gender, checkpoints, poverty, aspirations, and refugees were the main topics covered by students recently at the fourth Film Festival organized by the Department of Journalism at the University. The Film Festival was organized in cooperation with the United Nations Population Fund, UNFPA. The Journalism Department organized its fourth film festival with the goal of motivating students to produce their own films and documentaries. The opening of the Festival was attended by university administration, representatives from the UNFPA, local associations, as well as university students. The students passed through hard training, for several weeks, in order to obtain the skills necessary to produce the documentaries. The documentaries are just one example of the educational development of students at An-Najah. The students managed to successfully present their people’s stories and sufferance, which reflects their sense of commitment and responsibility towards what is occurring in the occupied Palestinian territories.
