The Former Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Jordan Visits the Faculty of Engineering at An-Najah
On January 31st. Dr. Nabil Dmaidi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at An-Najah, received Dr. Mohammed A. Hamdan, former dean of the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Jordan, during his visit to Nablus where he attended the 4th International Energy Conference which was organized by the Engineering Association last week.
Dr. Dmaidi familiarized the guest with the history of the Faculty of Engineering at An-Najah, its establishment, development and the 18 different Bachelor and Master programs it offers. He also familiarized him with the Faculty’s magazine, its radio program and the most important achievements and awards it obtained over the years.
On his part, Dr. Hamdan expressed his admiration by the level of development of the University in general, and the Faculty of Engineering in particular. He also praised the efforts of its administration represented by the University President, Prof. Rami Hamdallah, which enabled the University to achieve many things despite the challenging political conditions on ground.
Dr. Dmaidi said it is possible to establish several future collaboration programs with the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Jordan in many fields including student or teacher- exchange, and holding lectures via video conference technology.
On another occasion, a delegation from the Royal Industrial Trading Company in Hebron visited the University and met with a staff from the Chemical Engineering and Mechanical Engineering departments, including Dr. Dmaidi and Engineer Muhammad Dwaikat, Director of the Engineering Communication Center at An-Najah. A number of issues were discussed in the meeting such as: the graduates of the Faculty of Engineering who work at Royal and the possible means of investment in the graduation projects of the students by Royal.
Royal produces and sells more than 1000 type of plastic products including plastic tanks, pipes, general plastic fittings, bathroom accessories, home furniture and playground…etc. The Company will organize an exhibition and a lecture on the 6th and 7th of February as part of the “Guest of the Week” program which will be organized by the Engineering Communication Center in cooperation with the Engineering Association, the Contractors Union, the Industries Union as well as the Federation of Palestinian Chambers of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture.
