The Forum for Cultural Cooperation, the Jenin Foundation for the Blind, and the General Woman's Union in Nablus organized an exhibition which is the first for blinds at the University. The exhibition included many works products by the visually impaired at the school, tools which were used by the blind in their everyday life, a number of books printed in Braille, and a few copies of the Holy Quran.
The exhibition was opened by Prof. Rami Hamdallah, the University President, and others. it aims to draw more attention to blind people and the care of them through provision of their special needs. The exhibition was the first of its kind throughout Palestinian universities it also aims to show that blind are able to work and produce as others. The exhibition lasted for a week.
The blind students, who participated in the exhibition, thanked the university for its interest in the blind and for opening its doors to their activities. They called upon all institutions to care about the issues of the blind and help in recognizing them as active members in society.
In the near future a computer center for the visually impaired will be established with the support of the Cooperation Foundation in order to provide services for printing books in Braille as well as provide programmes which will enable the blind to browse the internet.
