In cooperation with Dr. Fayez Al-Zagha, Secretary of the Laboratory Medicine Association in Nablus, Dr. Sulaiman Khalil, Dean of the Faculty of Science at the University inaugurated on March 15^th 2010 the Laboratory Medicine workshop. The workshop is part of the Sixth Palestinian Conference of Laboratory Medicine which is held at the Faculty of Science at the New Campus.

Dr. Khalil said that this workshop discusses a number of topics that are related to the development of laboratory medicine as a career in Palestine. It also aims to qualify and train medical laboratory technicians on how to deal with modern devices and thus report medical results more accurately.

Dr. Mahmoud Souy, Director of the Midlab laboratory in Ramallah, mentioned that this workshop provides laboratory technicians with instructions on management. He also explained that laboratory medicine is a branch of science that deals with medical examinations such as Hematology, clinical sciences, Immunology and Histology.
