Sponsored by Itqan Company for Services and Consultancies, the Faculty of Law at An Najah National University held on Wednesday, 9th of December 2009, the Intellectual Property Rights Protection Conference in Palestine titled "Future Challenges and Prospects" at the Korean Palestinian IT Institute of Excellence. Participated in the conference were a number of Law experts from several Palestinian institutions and universities, as well as Talal Abu Ghazaleh Intellectual Property Institution and the Palestinian Libraries and Information Association.
A number of speeches were delivered by the participants. Dr. Amjad Hassan delivered An Najah National University's speech in which he said that the University is concerned with holding and hosting conferences and workshops that aim at promoting knowledge and cooperation between people.
Other participants presented several work papers about different topics such as: the protection of national folklore, the importance of the intellectual property, utilization of the intellectual property via electronic means, and the legislations that govern intellectual property in Palestine. Dr. Ma'en Naser, Director of Talal Abu Ghazaleh Office for Intellectual Property, presented a paper in which he spoke about the practical procedures for the registration of the industrial property rights in the Palestinian Authority, in addition to other topics that have been discussed in the field of intellectual property.
