On May 24^th 2010, Dr. Hasan N'erat, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts at An-Najah, participated in the Festival for Contemporary Art which was held at Yarmouk University located in the northern town of Irbid, Jordan. The festival was organized under the auspices of Prof. Sultan T. Abu-Orabi, President of Yarmouk University and attracted a large number of students and visitors.

The event also included a conference in which a number of researchers and scholars from different Arab countries presented more than 35 research papers that discussed various issues in the field of art. From An-Najah, Dr. N'erat presented a work paper in which he spoke about the reality of heritage and decoration in Palestinian architecture. He also described the many acts that the Israeli occupation has carried out in its quest to suppress the Palestinian art and heritage.

As part of the festival, Dr. N'erat also visited the exhibition that was organized on the same day which displayed art works done by the students of fine art at Yarmouk University. Dr. N'erat further met with the President of Yarmouk University, Prof. Sultan Abu Orabi, and discussed possible exchange of academic programs, particularly in the field of fine art, as well as joint cooperation.

Prof. Orabi on his part thanked Dr. N'erat for his visit and congratulated him for the impressive advancement that An-Najah has attained over the years. After that, Dr. N'erat met with a number of deans of different fine art faculties of a number of Arab and Jordanian universities and discussed cooperation and exchange prospects.
