The Faculty of Fine Arts Organizes an Exhibition for the Graphic Design Students
As part of the activities that the Faculty of Fine Arts carries out which aim to activate the role of the Faculty’s students and translate their ideas into reality, Prof. Maher Abu Eid, Vice President for Academic Affairs at An-Najah, inaugurated the Graphic Design Exhibition which showcased the students’ projects and work.
Attendees to the opening ceremony included Dr. Hasan N’erat, Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts, Dr. Ali Habayeb, Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs, in addition to a large number of the Faculty’s staff and students.
Dr. N’erat welcomed the attendants and appreciated the University’s support to organize the exhibition. He then spoke about the reason behind organizing this event saying that the exhibition, which was held under the title “Smile, You Are in Palestine”, contained projects prepared by fourth year Graphic Design majors. The students showcased a number of posters that were designed in a sarcastic and comic way and address a set of phenomena and issues related to the rights of the Palestinian people, in addition to several behaviors and practices among young boys and girls in Palestine.
The students explained to the visitors the ideas behind their work; several cartoon films were screened at the Exhibition which addressed many of the prevailing phenomena in the Palestinian society such as transportation issues in the country.
Prof. Abu Eid praised the high artistic and technical level that the students have attained which is evident through the quality of their projects and the great way through which they produced their work.
