Between the 3rd and 4th of May 2010, the Faculty of Engineering at An-Najah participated in the 10th Joint Arab Architectural Exop for Graduation Projects which was organized in Irbid, Jordan at the College of Architecture and Design at Jordan University for Science & Technology. In addition to Palestine and Jordan, a number of Arab countries also took part in the event such as Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Morocco and Tunis as well as all the departments of Architectural Engineering at the Jordanian universities. The Expo included a symposium that was titled "Building & Environment in Architectural Education".
The Expo was inaugurated by His Excellency, Mr. Taher Al-Masri, Chairman of the House of Notables in Jordan, who expressed his admiration of the outstanding level of the projects that were displayed at the Expo. Both Dr. Haithem Al-Ratrout, Head of the Architectural Engineering Department and Dr. Iman Amad, Director of the Architectural Conservation and Reconstruction Unit at An-Najah represented the University at the Expo.
Dr. Ratrout delivered a presentation about An-Najah, the Faculty of Engineering and the Department of Architectural Engineering. He also spoke about the graduation projects that An-Najah students have accomplished that reflected the advanced level that the University has reached in this field.
In the Expo, a number of graduation projects from different universities in the Arab world were presented which included advanced architectural designs and models made by the students.
Dr. Nabil Dmaidi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering at An-Najah, mentioned that such participation comes to reinforce cooperation and coordination between An-Najah and other Arab universities, particularly those in Jordan. It enabled engineering students to present their own works and at the same time become familiar with others' achievements. The Expo provided the participants with a chance to exchange experiences and ideas, especially in the field of architecture as well as discussing several engineering and academic issues.
