The Faculty of Engineering at An-Najah Organizes the Creative Designs in Industrial Engineering Exhibition
Under the auspices of Prof. Rami Hamdallah, President of An-Najah University and the sponsorship of Palestine Industrial Investment Company (PADICO), the Department of Industrial Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering organized an exhibition titled “Creative Designs in Industrial Engineering”.
The Exhibition aimed to highlight the importance of learning through application. Attendees to the Exhibition’s opening included: Dr. Abdel Rahim Abu Safa, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mr. Abdel Hakeem Foqahaa, General Manager of PADICO, Dr. Ayham Ja’roun, Head of the Industrial Engineering Department, Engineer Muhammad Dwaikat, Director of the Engineering Communication Center, in addition to Engineering students and professors, the External Evaluation Committee and its members: Engineer Ghaleb Fares, Director of Development at PADICO, Engineer Hassan Arman, Quality Director at PADICO, and Mrs. Dana Qimri, Instructor of Marketing at Birzeit University.
The Exhibition showcased 14 different projects that have been displayed using real models and illustrative posters that showed the nature of each product and the purpose behind its making. Each project was accomplished by three to four students from the Department of Industrial Engineering. The External Evaluation Committee evaluated the projects and selected three of them to receive the three awards.
At the end of the Exhibition Dr. Arman praised the students’ work and emphasized the importance of participating in this event regardless of the result. He also thanked PADICO for its role and presented the University’s Shield to the Company in appreciation of its contribution. Dr. Abu Safa, Dr. Arman and Engineer Fares then presented the awards and the certificates of appreciation to the winners.
The “Nice Display” project received the first award and was made by Abdel Qader Yusef, Malek Ammar and Muhammad Sarhan. The “Multifunction Electric Outlet” project by Sonia Ali, Sawsan Deek and Reem Salahat won the second place, while the third place went to the “Toothy Pop” project by Aseel Khateeb, Asma’ Nouri, Aya Jarrar and Tha’era Zaidan.
PADICO and the Department of Industrial Engineering at An-Najah have started a cooperation relationship that aims to support the students and encourage them to present applicable projects that serve the Palestinian economy.
