The Faculty of Arts Inaugurates a Training Course on Creative Writing in Arabic
October 2nd. Dr. Maher Abu Zant, Dean of the Faculty of Arts at An-Najah University, inaugurated a training course on creative writing in Arabic at the University. The course is administered by writer Ahlam Bsharat. More than 40 students from the different faculties participated in the 30-hour course.
Dr. Abu Zant thanked Bsharat for her time and effort to train the students on the creative writing in Arabic which would equip them with new skills and experience in this field. The course came as a result of the cooperation between the University and the Palestinian Ministry of Culture. Dr. Abu Zant urged the students to try to benefit as much as they can from the course and concentrate on understanding the lessons so as to master creative writing.
Ahlam Bsharat is a Palestinian writer and storyteller born in Tammoon village in 1975. She holds a Master degree in Arabic Literature from the Faculty of Arts at An-Najah National University in Nablus. She has published short stories as well as Common Messages which she co-authored with Fatima Al-Zahra’ Al-Rghaiwi from Morocco.
Bsharat also published three stories for children, in addition to a novel for boys and girls titled “My Codename is Butterfly” as well as other literary publications.
