The Engineering Communication Center Organizes an Exhibition for Royal Industrial Trading Company
February 13th. Under the auspices of the University President, Prof. Rami Hamdallah, the Engineering Communication Center (ECC) of the Faculty of Engineering organized an exhibition for Royal Industrial Trading Company which is based in Hebron in cooperation with the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Faculty.
Attendees included Prof. Hamdallah, Dr. Mohamad Hannon, University Vice President for Community Affairs, Dr. Nabil Dmaidi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Mr. Nabil Zughayyar, Chairman-Board of Directors at Royal, Engineer Muhammad Dwaikat, Director of the ECC, in addition to a number of faculty staff students and members of the Board of Directors and employees at Royal.
Many kinds of plastic products of Royal were displayed at the exhibition including: water tanks, plastic pipes, fittings, house wares and others. In addition to this, a film about the Company’s factory was displayed. The factory lies on a 55-dunum land in the industrial area of Hebron. About 400 employees work at the factory from different parts of the country.
Commenting on the event, Prof. Hamdallah said “The University has passed through many stages of building strong relationships with the Palestinian community and institutions”; he added that An-Najah University is concerned with reinforcing relationships with the Palestinian private sector which he invited to visit the University and establish social and professional relationships with its staff to become familiar with its laboratories and facilities. Prof. Hamdallah also indicated that An-Najah University is able to contribute to the development of the Palestinian economy.
Dr. Dmaidi mentioned that the Faculty of Engineering and its staff are ready to establish work partnerships with the private sector in the different engineering fields. He added that the gap between the Faculty of Engineering and the local market has started to decrease thanks to the increasing cooperation between the two sides.
Mr. Zughayyar said “We are surprised and impressed by the scale of success and development we saw at An-Najah”; he added that Royal is concerned with continuous contact with all institutions and universities in Palestine.
The delegation members visited the New Campus where they were introduced to Prince Turki Bin Abdul Aziz Theater, the Chemical Biological and Drugs Analysis Center, the Department of Chemical Engineering and the Media Center; they were also hosted in the “Engineering Issues” radio program which is broadcasted on An-Najah Radio Station.
Mr. Zughayyar thanked the University’s administration represented by its President, Prof. Hamdallah, for supporting the exhibition; he also thanked Dr. Dmaidi, Engineer Dwaikat and all the faculty staff for their hospitality and cooperation. Engineer Dwaikat mentioned that a seminar was organized at the Korean Palestinian IT Institute of Excellence which aimed to familiarize the attendants with Royal’s factory, branches and products
