On May 26th 2010, the Engineering Communication Center (ECC) of the Faculty of Engineering at the University organized a workshop titled "Practical Engineering Training and the Basis for Success in Professional Life". The workshop was held at the Martyr Zafer Al-Masri Auditoriums at the Old Campus and continues over two days.
University President, Prof. Rami Hamdallah, Dr. Nabil Dmaidi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Engineer Ahmed Adili, Chief of Engineers at Al-Quds Center, Engineer Adel Odeh, Chairman of the Palestinian Contractors Union, Engineer Ayman Sbaih, Secretary-General of the Palestinian Industries Union, in addition to a number of representatives of several engineering institutions in Palestine and instructors from the Faculty of Engineering at the University attended the event.


Dr. Dmaidi welcomed the attendants and spoke about the Faculty of Engineering and the graduation projects that the students have completed this year. He also said that the Faculty offers a Bachelor and a Master degree in more than 17 different majors through which the Faculty aims to meet the needs of the Palestinian society and provide it with competent engineers.
Engineer Adili on his part said that the Engineering Association in Palestine provides university graduates with all they need in order to become qualified professionals in their field of specialization. He added that the Association is continuously working on providing extensive training programs for the students of Engineering and maintaining cooperation and coordination with the University in this respect.
Dr. Muhammad Dwaikat, Director of the ECC spoke about the Center and familiarized the audience with the programs it offers and the nature of cooperation and relationship it holds with the University, especially the Faculty of Engineering.
During the workshop, the participants presented a number of work papers on several topics related to practical engineering training, the reality of engineering offices in Palestine, the training of engineers and students and other issues.
