On May 19th 2010, the Engineering Communication Center (ECC) of the Faculty of Engineering at the University organized a lecture for the students of the Faculty about the basics of writing CVs. The lecture was delivered by Mr. Ala Abu Dheer, Acting Director of the Public Relations Department at the University. Mr. Abu Dheer presented a brief description of the importance of public relations for the students as they are going to be the employees of the future and will be required to have enough knowledge about this field in order to function properly in their future careers. He also pointed out the importance of building one's personality and preparing it to deal with different types of people and situations.

More than 100 students attended the meeting who said that such lectures are of great significance to them since they address issues related to their future careers and life. A number of CV forms and templates were distributed among the students so that they become familiar with this issue and practice writing such papers.

Dr. Nabil Dmaidi, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, said that the Faculty is being deeply committed to producing competent engineers who are ready to perform well in the work field in the future. Therefore, such lectures and meetings are necessary to equip those students with the essential knowledge and experience before they graduate so that they would be able to meet the demands of the work field and thus contribute to the development of their society.

Engineer Muhammad Dwaikat, Director of the ECC, mentioned that the Faculty of Engineering is planning for two work days, on the 26th and the 27th May 2010, in which several topics related to public relations in institutions, interview skills and other issues will be addressed. This activity will be organized in cooperation with the Public Relations Department, the Alumni Association, the Korean-Palestinian IT Institute of Excellence and other bodies at the University.
