On May 12th 2010, the Engineering Communication Center (ECC) of the Faculty of Engineering at the University organized a scientific tour for students of Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering to the Arab Motor Trade Company and Tower Mechanical Equipment Company (TOMECO) in the industrial zone, Bitonia, Ramallah. The staff of the two companies which included Engineer Ref'at Ya'ish, the Administrative Manager, Engineer Abdel Naser Dwaikat, Sales Manager, Engineer Shadi Hamami, Head of the Spare Parts Department as well as other members received the students.
During their visit, the students were introduced to the different parts of the Company, the maintenance workshops and the garage. Engineer Muhammad Barakat, Technical Director of the garage at the Company explained to the students how automobile engines function, while Engineer Hamami spoke about vehicles' spare parts, their types and the techniques of maintenance used.

After that, the students visited other parts of the Company where they were introduced to the different types and classes of vehicles, heavy equipments and automobiles that the Company employs.
Engineer Ya'ish, on his part, thanked the University in general and the ECC in particular for their interest in field education which familiarizes the students with the work of some of the leading engineering companies and institutions in Palestine. Engineer Muhammad Dwaikat, Director of the ECC at the University, thanked the Company staff for their cooperation and informative presentations which benefited the students and provided them with additional experience and knowledge in their field of specialization.


Dwaikat further emphasized that the University has established the Engineering Communication Center so as to reinforce the relationship between the Faculty of Engineering and the different institutions of the private sector in Palestine.
Such cooperation between the University and the society helps reinforce the exchange of knowledge and practical experience between the students and engineering companies which will lead to a greater advancement of the industrial and service sectors. Such visits enhance the students' experience and encourage them to join those companies after graduation.
