On May 23^rd 2010, the Employees Union at the University organized a ceremony celebrating the ranking that the University has received recently by the Webometrics which ranked it first in Palestine and tenth in the Arab world. The celebration also included honoring employees who have spent more than 20 years at the University. The event was organized in cooperation with the National Insurance Company.

University President, Prof. Rami Hamdallah, Dr. Husam Abdel Haleem, Chairman of the Administrative Board of the Employees Union, a number of vice presidents, members of the Board of Trustees, administrative staff, and a number of faculties' members attended the event.

Prof. Hamdallah delivered a speech in which he thanked the employees for their substantial efforts and dedication towards the University which made it among the most successful and competent educational institutions inside and outside Palestine alike.  

He also mentioned that it was the effort that the employees have exerted that led the University to achieve an impressive ranking among other universities across the world according to the Webometrics Ranking of World Universities which placed it first in Palestine and tenth in the Arab world. At the end of the celebration the Employee Union honored the employees in recognition of their services, hard work and dedication.
