Fanan Osama Malhas, a student from the Department of French at An-Najah won third place in the Creative Writing in French Competition which was held at the Department and in which the French writer Yanne Dimay participated.

Fanan winning story was titled “The Prisoner” and the participating stories were read and judged by a number of writers and experts in France. The final results were presented to the French Consulate General in Jerusalem, the Palestinian and French delegations in the UNESCO, Paris Municipality, as well as the French Institute and the Literary Society in France.

The winning stories will be printed out in France and published in the Echos Palestine Journal. The winners from Palestine were Fanan in first place, Somaya Al-Zurba in second, and Wala’ Tabanja in third place. Those winners will be granted a one-week trip to France as a reward.
