The Continuing Education Center Celebrates the Conclusion of a Training Course for Pharmacists

On Tuesday, 13th of January 2010, the Continuing Education Center at the University celebrated the graduation of a specialized training course for pharmacists about the role of the pharmacist in dealing with allergy and asthma diseases. Attended the celebration was Dr. Huda Al-Lahham, member of the Palestinian Pharmacists Association and Dr. Musaddaq Al-Masri, Director of the Continuing Education Center at the University and more than 17 male and female students.
Dr. Al-Masri said that holding this course comes to establish a connection between the University and the society, particularly pharmacists. The aim, as he explained, is to enable pharmacists to be up-to-date with the latest advancements in the field of pharmacy, especially that pharmacists play a major role in their society.
The lecturer in the course was Dr. Ruba Yahiya Odeh, expert in the drugs and biological technology and the member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society of Great Britain, said that the course aims at raising awareness among pharmacists on how to deal with allergy diseases like asthma. She also added that the course aims to familiarize the participants with the scientific principles of how to deal with asthma and allergy diseases and the best drugs used by the World Health Organization. Also, to train them on the use of medical devices used to treat asthma and other similar diseases. At the conclusion of the course, certificates were distributed among the participants.
