The Urban planning and Disaster Risk Reduction Centre/ Earth Sciences and Seismic Engineering has released its electronic bulletin in both Arabic and English. The bulletin includes outlines for seismic design “Conceptual Design”, which is being issued by the SASPARM FP7 Project.

-          SASPARM is carried out by An-Najah in cooperation with the European Earthquake Engineering Centre (EUCENTRE) and IUSS University in Pavia, Italy, within the FP7 group of European projects.

-          The SASPARM website includes important information about the activities of the project in addition to the training courses, workshops, lectures, maps, researches, scientific references, and daily seismic bulletin, etc.

-          During May 2014, the Centre will conduct 3 workshops in the northern, central and southern areas of the West Bank. The workshops will target engineers in engineering offices, contractors and governmental and non-governmental institutions, and will address Seismic Design in 100 minutes.

-          The workshops will review the minimum requirements of buildings to be resistant to earthquakes during a 100-minute lecture. Dates of these workshops will be announced through the Offices Committee shortly.
