On Monday, January 24th, the University’s Competency Development Council held its fourth meeting headed by Professor Jawad Fatayer, University President Assistant for Graduate Affairs. Attendees included the Council members who represent the University’s faculties and local institutions.

 

The participants in the meeting approved the minutes of the previous meeting and discussed several issues such as: self-management, reinforcing the graduate’s self-confidence, supporting his abilities and recognition of these abilities, as well as reinforcing the students’ values of belonging and integrity.

The meeting also focused on issues including: activating management, leadership and interviewing skills, the importance of work ethics, the necessity to integrate school and university students into companies, instilling moral and social values in students, as well as addressing the huge gap between students’ practical experience and academic study.

The Council recommended the integration of compulsory practical training into every field of study at the University, establish training evaluation mechanism, hold meetings with students in which pioneering experiences are presented to them, open communication channels with local and non-governmental institutions to benefit from their experiences and projects.
