The mobile center traveled to the village of Bathan to conduct a workshop on food poisoning and its causes, methods of prevention, and treatment options. When the workshop began, the CSC staff welcomed the women and introduced the mission of the mobile center. A member of the Poison Center, Anas Rahal, introduced himself and his center. He presented integral information about food poisoning, and he shed light on the dangers of using certain chemical cleaning products and the risk of mixing different products together (for example, chlorine and flamable liquids), and explained that chemical reactions can result in poisonous fumes. He also stressed the importance of paying attention to a balanced diet, highlighting that some traditional eating habits are unhealthy. He also gave his professional opinion in favor of using natural herbal products over chemical sanitary solutions. Almost fifty women participated in the workshop, including many from the Women’s Community Care Center that operates in the village.
