On Sunday, March 6th, 2011, the Community Service Center of An-Najah University hosted Mr. Richard Perron, the Chief Desk Officer of the Middle East and North Africa for the Ministry of International Affairs in the government of Quebec, Canada. Mr. Perron met with the CSC director, Mr. Bilal Salama and was introduced to the center in downtown Nablus and learned about its programs and projects.

The group then visited An-Najah University and met with CSC founder and former director, Sami Al-Kilani to discuss the McGill Middle East Program, specifically its fellowship program that has given many Palestinians the opportunity to study a Masters in Social Work at McGill University in Montreal. Mr. Perron was able to meet with 4 fellows from the program who are currently working for An-Najah University and the CSC. The remainder of the day was spent visiting the old city of Nablus to see where the majority of CSC's programs are run and touring the rest of the city.
Mr. Perron's visit was an important step to raising awareness about Palestinian culture, society and issues abroad as well as continuing an important connection to and cooperation with the government of Quebec.
