On May 8^th 2010, the Chairman of the Higher Education Accreditation Commission in Jordan, Prof. Khalif Tarawneh, visited the University where he was received by the University President, Prof. Rami Hamdallah, and Prof. Muhammad Al-Subou', Chairman of the Accreditation and Quality Assurance Commission (AQAC) for Higher Education Institutions in Palestine.

At the beginning of the meeting, Prof. Hamdallah presented a summary of the University, the programs it offers, the variety of specializations that are available to students, and the different facilities it includes. He also stressed the importance of education to the Palestinian people and the role it plays in building and developing the country.

Prof. Hamdallah further spoke about the importance of maintaining cooperation between Palestine and Jordan, particularly in the field of education. He called for more cooperation between the Palestinian and Jordanian universities regarding academic exchange which will have a positive impact on the educational process in both countries.

Prof. Tarawneh, on his part, emphasized the importance of exchanging ideas and experiences in order to develop the quality of education regionally. He also expressed his admiration of the academic and scientific level that the University has reached and the significant role it plays in supporting education in Palestine. Prof. Tarawneh congratulated Prof. Hamdallah for the impressive ranking that the University has received recently by the Webometrics which ranked it first in Palestine and tenth in the Arab world.

Finally, he added that his visit aimed to reinforce relationships between Palestine and Jordan in the field of education and education quality.
