On Tuesday 18 March American Corner Nablus welcomed the American award-winning film director and editor Susan Korda to the University, where she gave her lecture “Kill your darlings”, to the students of Television and Radio from the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences.

In the lecture, which aimed at teaching the students the skill of choosing the right clips from a film in the editing room, Korda made a presentation that highlighted the necessary skills needed in documentary film-making. She also shared her personal experience of making films and discussed with the students what makes a good film.

The event was attended by Mrs. Jessica Adams, US Consulate Diplomatic Officer, Dr. Hussam Abu Daye, Head of the TV and Radio Department, Dr. Samar Shunnar, lecturer in the PR and Communications Department, Mr. Hisham Airout, Supervisor of the TV Editing Unit, and a number of media students.
