On Tuesday, October 3^rd, 2013, the Scholarship Office hosted Dr. Olivier Pfeiffer, an AVEMPACE III official from the Technical University of Berlin, the main university supporting the project. AVEMPACE III is one of the European Union’s Erasmus Mundus projects.

Khaled Ilaiwi, Scholarships Coordinator, welcomed Dr. Pfeiffer, Dr. Sami Jaber, Vice President for Academic Affairs, and the rest of the attendees.

Dr. Pfeiffer presented a detailed overview of AVEMPACE III. He talked about the different types of scholarships they offer. There are five types of scholarships, namely:

1. Student Exchange Scholarships
2. Scholarships for Master’s Students
3. Scholarships for Doctoral Students
4. Post-Doctorate Scholarships
5. 
6. Short Visit Scholarships for Academic Staff and Administrators

Dr. Pfeiffer also outlined the groups targeted for Erasmus Mundus scholarships, the names of the partner universities, as well as the benefits that scholarship recipients receive (full tuition, airfare, health insurance, and living expenses).
