Samaritan Legend Society Inaugurates the "Samaritan Heritage and Culture" Exhibition at An Najah National University

In cooperation between the Public Relations Department at An Najah National University and the Samaritan Legend Society in Nablus, and powered by the Bank of Palestine, the "Samaritan Heritage and Culture Exhibition" was inaugurated at An Najah National University on Monday, 7th of December 2009.
The exhibition was attended by Dr. Mohamad Hanoon, Vice President of Community Affairs, Mr. Naser Bakeer, Director of the Bank of Palestine, and Ya'qub Al-Kahen, Head of the Samaritan Legend Society, as well as Dr. Hasan N'erat, the Dean of the Faculty of Fine Arts and a number of students.
Mr. Ya'qub Al-Kahen delivered a speech in which he presented a brief explanation about the Samaritan community's customs and traditions. He also shed light on the Samaritan Community Exhibition which highlights several aspects of Samaritan heritage. Moreover, he said that this exhibition embodies the cooperation between the Samaritan Legend and An Najah National University, and that the Samaritans are inseparable of the Palestinian society.
Dr. Mohamad Hanoon, stressed the importance of this event and the role that An Najah National University performs in serving the local community through organizing activities such as this exhibition. The exhibition included photos, paintings and pictures that reflected the Samaritan way of life, traditions, religious rituals and customs. Visitors to the exhibition expressed their admiration for the Samaritan culture and the various details the exhibition introduced about the Samaritan community.
