The Faculty of Nursing, represented by its Dean, Dr. Aidah Abu Elsoud Alkaissi, has been active recently in organizing meetings, lectures and workshops in its efforts to strengthen health care in the city of Nablus, and to increase awareness of certain medical conditions. The co-ordination of students’ projects was discussed in a meeting held by the Ministry of Health. Dr. Alkaissi was in attendance to ensure An Najah’s nursing students were placed in meaningful and effective projects in local hospitals and medical clinics.
To broaden the knowledge of our nursing students, a lecture entitled Eye Diseases and How to treat them was given by Dr. Abdul Latif Abu Safat. It was well attended by students of the Nursing Faculty from all years.
Two workshops organized in the Nursing Faculty were held recently. The first was on the Role of Nursing in Controlling Nosocomial and Occupational Infections in Hospitals and Health Centers. A second workshop was organized to give further training to nurse trainers, who are essential personnel providing on-going support to working nurses.
Finally, Dr. Al-Qaissi met surgeons from Belgium and France, who came to support the Palestinian medical institutions. She heard about their experiences both here and at home.
