Qutaibah Ghanim, Engineering and Information Technology Student, Presents “Inspired by Nature” Photo Gallery
Under the patronage of Dr. Maher Natsheh, Acting President of the University, the Faculty of Engineering and Information Technology presented the “Inspired by Nature” Photo Gallery, displaying the work of engineering student Qutaibah Munir Ghanim. The gallery conluded with a ceremony on Thursday after three days of public viewing.
The Photo Gallery, organized under the supervision of Dr. Jihad Dweikat, Chairman of the Social Committee, included photographs of the everyday life of plants, flowers, and children, as well as snapshots of Jerusalem and Acre.
Dr. Amer Hmouz, Dean of Engineering and Information Technology, said that the Faculty promotes participation in extracurricular activities, believing that these activities sharpen students’ skills and improve their academic performance and success after graduation. He also noted that the photo gallery presented some unique subjects, such as the Jezzar Pasha Mosque in Acre and Kfar Qud village, Jenin District – Qutaibah’s birthplace.
Dr. Dweikat said that this exhibition is Qutaibah’s first photo gallery, and it stimulates students to ponder and reflect on God’s creation, as well as taste the beauty of Palestine. At the same time it encourages other students to hold their own exhibitions and events.
Qutaibah himself said, “I have been encouraged that my faculty took the lead in organizing this event. I would like to take more photographs and present a second gallery in order to connect Palestinian youth with their homeland. Thank-you Dr. Hmouz and Dr. Dweikat for your encouragement and moral support. And above all, I thank my father and mother for their support and for coming today. My university has really encouraged me to work on developing my talent.”
Qutaibah Munir Ghaneim is a student in the Faculty if Engineering from Kafr Qud village. His love for photography began while hiking with his family in 2009. Qutaibah grabbed his father’s cellphone and snapped his first shot of an olive tree in the mountains of Kafr Qud – demonstrating his love for the land of Palestine from an early age.
