Suaad Samara, a master’s candidate in Public Health at the Faculty of Medicine, participated in the First Arab World Conference on Public Health. Organized by the Dubai Health Authority, the conference entitled, “Towards Excellence in Public Health: Opportunities and Challenges in the Arab World,” featured speakers from the Arab World, Europe, and the United States.  

Conference attendees were invited to present their research in large poster format. Representing An-Najah University, Ms. Samara presented on “Self Reported Oral Health, Oral Hygiene Habits, and Dental Attendance of Pregnant Women in Tulkarem City.”  Mr. Khobaib Ayoub, also a master’s candidate at An-Najah, submitted a poster about “Postpartum Depression among Arab Women: A Call for Action.”

Dr. Amira Shaheen of the Department of Community Medicine and Public Health at An-Najah serves as academic advisor to Ms. Samara and Mr. Ayoub.
