Prof. Rami Hamdallah Receives the United States Consul General at his Office and Discusses Prospects of Mutual Cooperation
An-Najah President, Prof. Rami Hamdallah, received in his office at the Old Campus Mr. Daniel Rubinstein, United States Consul General at the U.S. Consulate General in Jerusalem. The President first welcomed the Consul’s visit to the University and introduced him to the latest developments that took place on the academic and architectural levels over the last ten years.
Moreover, Prof. Hamdallah spoke about the different faculties, academic programs (Master, Bachelor and PhD), and the University’s role in serving the society in different fields. He also talked about the new Teaching Hospital that the University is currently establishing and said that major parts of this project have been completed and that the hospital will represent a major contribution and addition to the medical field in Palestine.
In addition to this, Prof. Hamdallah praised the cooperation between the University and the Consulate General in different fields and mentioned that An-Najah is looking forward to take this cooperation further especially in the academic field. He also mentioned the many cooperation agreements that the University has signed with a number of American universities such as the University of Arizona.
In return Mr. Rubinstein expressed his pleasure to visit An-Najah and emphasized the Consulate’s commitment to the encouragement of mutual understanding and cooperation between the Americans and the Palestinians. He also valued the great effort that the University makes to support and develop the educational process in Palestine.
